About MEEM

MEEM is a partnership of minority businesses and others that provides a strategic voice and conduit to inform and influence policy makers, so that the views and needs of minority businesses are understood and acted upon. In addition, as the voice of minority businesses in the East Midlands, MEEM aims to influence the environment in which those businesses operate so that they are supported effectively and have a real opportunity to succeed.

The organisation was established as a ‘not for profit’ organisation in 1999 and has worked closely with East Midlands Development Agency (emda), Government Office for the East Midlands (GOEM), the Small Business Service (SBS), Business Links and others including financial institutions, academic institutions, training providers and organisations working with minority businesses. Since its inception, MEEM has engaged widely with minority businesses through a concerted programme of consultation and research.  This process is continuing and provides MEEM with a unique knowledge base and platform to speak for and on behalf of minority businesses.

MEEM also works with key organisations that provide business support services to minority businesses in the East Midlands region:
