Research Findings - Annual Report
Three major research projects were undertaken by MEEM in 2000 and 2002. The findings from this important research into Ethnic Minority Business (EMB) issues in the East Midlands has been published in MEEMs Annual Report and summaries are included here for your information. It is an important part of MEEMs role to ensure that this information is passed on to local government and Business Support Organisations (BSOs) to ensure that EMBs receive the support, advice and assistance that they require.
The three key areas focussed on in this research are:
Perception Survey: This survey was carried out by MEEM in 2000. The survey concentrated on identifying the major concerns of ethnic minority businesses in the East Midlands.
Mainstream Survey: The MEEM mainstream survey in 2002 highlighted a major area of development in ethnic data capturing. The survey was carried out on mainstream organisations and their systems and procedures in capturing ethnicity data from their clients. Following the findings of this survey MEEM established the first workshop of its kind that aims to develop a cohesive ethnic data-capturing framework for the East Midlands.
One to One Survey: The MEEM One to One survey 2002, conducted on 100 EMBs in the region, was an in-depth analysis on the major concerns identified from the MEEM perception survey. Please follow the links to read a summary of the research findings or contact MEEM for a copy of the Annual Report and a full breakdown of the research.
