BUDDING ENTREPRENEURS CHALLENGED

An award-winning charity has launched a challenge for budding entrepreneurs.

The Diversity Hub, based in Applegate, near St Nicholas Circle, Leicester, is looking for 25 volunteers who think they have what it takes to turn £100 into a money-spinning project.

The winner will be the person who generates the most profit in a three-month period. There will also be a prize for the most innovative or exciting idea.

The charity helps train adults and young people to work in areas that build community relations.

Diversity Hub director Val Carpenter, says: "This challenge is a really fun way of bringing the issues of diversity to the business community whilst helping a local charity.

"People undertaking the challenge can do it themselves, use it as a development opportunity for their staff or use it as a team-building opportunity. We have had a great deal of interest, so we expect there to be keen competition for the 25 places."

The Mercury-backed challenge, which is aimed at building community relations, has received sponsorship from the Chamber of Commerce, LeicesterShire Economic Partnership, East Midlands Airport and Sterling Airlines.

Potential entrants must complete an application form, which needs to be received by the Diversity Hub by noon on October 24. Applicants will have to give details of how they plan to use the money to develop their business project.

All entrants will need to be able to attend a launch and briefing session at the Leicester Chamber of Commerce on November 1, from 12 to 2pm.
